I've been lucky to attend and host several women leadership seminars both in-person and virtually. Not only are these events great networking opportunities, but I've also learned so much about how I can be a better leader through the advice and examples of the incredible speakers.
I've had the opportunity to perform at several different senior living centers throughout out Orem and got to do a few cultural presentations at senior living centers in South Jordan! It's been so fun to meet all these incredible people and hear their life stories!
One thing that's amazing about Orem is that they invite the royalty to attend every new business ribbon cutting. We love getting to celebrate these huge, life changing moments for new business owners in our city.
Our program is lucky to be so involved with Turn Community Center. Dave Hennessy invites all of our royalty to participate in the various activities and events that benefit the special needs community throughout Utah County. We love our friends at Turn!
I got to attend the Walk with Angels hosted by the United Angels Foundation. This is a wonderful event that support the disabled community of Utah. I met and made so many new friends at this event and loved seeing all of the amazing performances.
Utah County is known for its incredible parades. We have loved getting to ride our beautiful float in American Fork, Lehi, Pleasant Grove, Lindon, Spanish Fork, Provo, Orem, and Eagle Mountain this year!
I had the honor of continuing the legacy of former Miss Orem, Claire Inouye, by planning and hosting Little Miss Summerfest 2022. It was so fun to see the talents and personalities of all the cute participants! The winner also got to join us in the Orem Parade!
Orem Summerfest was such a blast! We loved helping hand out balloons and hot dogs at the car show, passing out Dilly Bars at the Scera Pool, and supporting the city in every possible capacity during this week full of community fun.
The Miss Orem program is lucky to include residents and Vineyard and we were glad to be invited to attend Vineyard Days this year.
For Memorial Day and Veteran's Day we get to help the city of Orem with the flag exchange ceremony. It's such a beautiful tribute to our country and those who have served it so valiantly.
I had the opportunity to attend the Raynbow Collective Art Gala in support of the LGBTQ+ community at BYU. I believe that it is.important that we show our love and support to those who feel marginalized in our community.
Orem's Outstanding Teen, Hope Ledkins, and I got to show our support for RODS Heroes which is an organization that advocates for the adoption of orphaned children with Down syndrome. Adoption is a cause near and dear to my heart so I was glad we had the opportunity to add our voices to this important cause.
We love being crossing guards for any and all city events at University Place!
The Miss Orem royalty volunteered with the Orem library to visit elementary schools throughout Orem to encourage the children in the area to read more! It was so fun teaching the kids the joy of reading.
I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Better Days Utah Orem exhibit of Martha Hughes Cannon. The display taught the citizens of our city the story and impact of Martha's life and how she shaped the women's movement.
We love how involved the Orem city council is in our program and cannot thank them enough for all they do to support us during our year representing the city. We are grateful for the invitation to sit in on city council meetings and be introduced to the community in such a public and supportive way.
Timpanogos Hospital hosted a baby contest and asked me and the rest of the Miss Orem royalty to be judges. It is tough to judge babies! They were so cute and it was such a fun experience to meet so many of Orem's tiniest citizens.
I was so happy to be able to usher for the Miss Greater Salt Lake competition this July As always, the candidates were phenomenal and I'm grateful for any opportunity to support my sash sisters.
I had the amazing opportunity to judge Little Miss Salem, Mr. Orem, and Mr. Inspiration this year! I loved getting to know all the ambitious and talented contestants in our area!
I loved getting to participate in one of my favorite Orem traditions: Orem Lights On! My royalty and I got to sing in Santa Clause then help flip on the giant light switch to dowse the city in Christmas light and cheer!
Throughout our year we got to participate in various Police Picnics and drop off cookies to our GRITTY service men and women. We are grateful for all they do to keep our city safe.
